Free Animal/Element Birth Day Reading for Subscribers
Subscribers, comment "Yes" and give your combination if you would like a reading of your Chinese Animal/Element Birth Day
In Chinese culture, the energetic influences of the natural elements lend to cycles of time, such as the sexagesimal cycle (60 years).
Everything is part of the One Unified Field or Consciousness. The elements Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water have properties which have been aligned with the qualities of 12 animals. This is a cycle of 60 years.
Because there are 5 elements and 12 animals, a 12 month or yearly cycle has 2 elements allocated to it twice. 5 x 2 + 2 = 12 elements paired with 12 animal totems.
So, for example, a Water Rabbit person may have slightly different ways of interacting with the world than a Metal Rabbit. While the Water Rabbit tends to perhaps have a softer or kinder approach of the “rabbit” kind (i.e. rabbits tend to be friendly); a Metal Rabbit may exhibit a more steely or firm attitude.
The elements are also separated into Yin and Yang polarities. Vicki Iskandar, who created the Chinese Five Elements Oracle says that Yin is about pulling inward (a softer energy) and Yang is about pushing (a more forceful energy).
Yang wood (Jia)
Yin wood (Yi)
Yang fire (Bing)
Yin fire (Ding)
Yang earth (Wu)
Yin earth (Ji)
Yang metal (Geng)
Yin metal (Xin)
Yang water (Ren)
Yin water (Gui)
The “Chinese Five Elements Oracle” card deck by Vicki Iskander has beautiful, amazing images for the 60 animal/element combinations. The Elements and their polarities are referred to as “Heavenly Stems”. The Animals are called “Earthly Branches” in Chinese astrology. These cards reveal messages and energy from the Cosmos or Unified Field of Consciousness and from the practical Earthly realm!
Subscribers (free or paid) to “Soul Connexions” can request a reading for themself by commenting on this post.
I will send you a private message with the image of your card and a two part reading, customized for you! The first part will be the description of the card from the Guidebook that comes with the deck. The second part will be my intuitive thoughts.
Please look up the Table below to find your element and animal signs.
The Chinese 60 Year Cycle from 1924 to 2044
NOTE: Each 60 year cycle starts sometime in either January or February of the standard calendar. Thus you can’t simply say, for example, EVERYONE born in 1961 is an Ox. If a person was born before 14th February in 1961, she/he falls into the Year of the Rat, as the above Table shows.
Please refer to my article below for comprehensive information about the Chinese Five Elements Oracle. Vicki Iskander states that each element/animal combination is a Pillar. There are cycles of 10 Pillars, each cycle starting with Yang Wood and ending with Yin Water. Each cycle of 10 has a different energetic theme.
Wisdom and Communication | Intuition and Inner Knowing | Mind, Body and Spirit | Love and Joy | Power and Authority | Growth and Expansion
Note: The Table linked above starts with Yin Wood, but according to my research, that is not correct. All other sources show the sexagesimal calendar starts with the Yang polarity!

Don’t comment your date of birth. However, you must tell me your Element and Animal sign from the Table above, in your comment.
And if you would like to share, either anonymously or under your Substack name, let me know in a Comment also!
Thus, this post is potentially a database of Cards and the readings for unique individuals. The purpose of this offer and sharing is to highlight the value and use of the Chinese oracle.
Oracles have sometimes got a bad rap by people misusing them or dismissing them as nonsense. But their legitimate use is based upon eons of observations and correspondences and sharing.
I love “oracle” and angel card oracles, including the Tarot, the visual I Ching, and the Luscher Color Test.
Of course, I’m not saying that what information they yield is set in stone. There’s such a thing as freewill and “changing our stars” too. However, there has been so much use of Oracles that I can’t but otherwise think that there is something to them - that helps us.
If they are used with good faith, i.e. by a positive, clear-minded person using her/his intuition and her/his connection to our Higher Selves & Source; they can be very helpful.
I also offer paid subscribers to “Soul Connexions” a three-card monthly reading.
This reading is personalized and is done by using one of my many decks, as described on my “About” page below. You are sent the image of the cards and a short mp3 audio recitation of your custom reading.

Call to Action
Your combination of Element and Animal occurs once every 60 years.
A lot of people are used to Chinese astrology telling us that, for example, a person is a “Horse” or a “Dragon,” but not all Horses & Dragons are the same!
The nuances, with, for example between a Wood Horse, appearing every 60 years, and a Fire Horse (every 60 years also) can make a good difference - for the person and for those who relate to them - to work with.

FYI, I am a Water Rabbit.
The Rabbit seeks creature comforts and is happy with its own company. “Rabbit” people tend to be trustworthy and dependable. They are well connected to the spiritual realm. They are peaceful.
The “Rabbit” person is humble and quietly goes about life, appreciating stillness and introspection. The “water” element makes the Rabbit intutiive and a bit emotional, having to center herself/himself or return to a clear, empty, and neutral mind. Water lends to the ability to adapt or be flexible.
“As I trust myself as Divine Source, I evolve and contribute to a fair and beautiful world for all” is my personal mantra.
May the energies of the elements and from antiquity help us to navigate through life.
