How Crystals Help Us
All is infused with intelligence and light
Crystals have been cherished by humans for millennia. Crystals have been believed to possess healing powers by everyone from the Aztecs to Ayurvedic doctors.
The most well documented of all crystal users are the Ancient Egyptians. For example, they prized lapis lazuli more than gold itself. Ancient Egyptians highly valued lapis lazuli for its intense blue color, which was associated with the night sky and divine power. They used the stone for jewelry, amulets, and inlays, famously seen in Tutankhamun’s funeral mask.
Crystals are pretty. They come in all sorts of colours, hues and shapes, and have different wonderful uses. Crystals are used for technology, healing, and spirituality. In technology, crystals like quartz are essential for timekeeping and precise frequency generation in electronic devices.
Crystal healing has roots in ancient civilizations like the Sumerians, Egyptians, and Chinese. The use of talismans and amulets using crystals dates back to the beginnings of humankind.
Books by Katrina Rafaell in the 80s, and Melody and Michael Gienger in the 90s, helped to popularise the use of crystals.
Crystals are said to discharge or emanate energy of particular frequencies. And this energy interacts with other energy, imbuing a person (or even an animal companion) with electromagnetic frequencies that boost the interaction.
Crystals are tools for harnessing the natural crystalline energies of Earth for many purposes, such as uplifting our moods and adjusting our mindsets.
Crystals, ethically obtained, are not only beautiful and versatile in jewelry or as “crystals” for grids or just for holding or having nearby. They really do have some “power” or ability to transmit energy / information, which can boost our energy.
Crystal Healing is a healing modality that works directly with the light, color, and perfect geometric forms that the mineral kingdom provides to assist us in balancing all aspects of our being
It is the structure of crystals that makes them crystals. The word “crystal” is derived from “ice” in ancient Greek. The Greeks believed that clear quartz was water frozen so deeply it would be solid forever.
With crystalline materials, the molecules are arranged in regular repeating patterns which can result in smooth, flat faces on the crystal’s surface. Crystals, when struck, can break along the flat plane surfaces because of this molecular arrangement. This is how gems are cut for use in jewellery.

When I was a child, I loved to accompany my brothers and sisters to a “gemstone field” where raw crystals were buried, which kids could delight in un-earthing using spades and buckets.
My first crystal, as an adult, was amethyst. Decades ago I saw an amazing large amethyst ring with diamonds on eBay.
I couldn’t afford to buy it, but I have a generous friend, whom, to my surprise and gratitude, bought it for me.
Whenever I wear this ring, I have a big smile on my face, because my personal energy resonates with amethyst, producing this effect. Amethyst is said to bring peaceful, calming vibes to those around this crystal gemstone.
This started my never-ending journey into the world of crystals.
I slowly acquired a nice range of crystal jewellery, mainly pendants and necklaces.

My obsession branched out to finding and buying carved crystal hearts, palm-stones, raw crystals, and crystal tumble-stones, fluorite being my favourite.
Of course I had to have a chakra crystal set, which is a set of seven lovely different coloured crystals to go with the seven chakras or energy centres.
The entire universe is made of energy, and your body is no exception.
You can intuitively choose crystals in the form of palmstones, tumblestones, points, clusters, or freeforms, or in jewelry, to help you feel better. Crystals may help lift your mood or bring clarity or tune up your mind to enhance a particular way of thinking.
Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel.” The seven basic or major chakras are spinning vortices of energy that are arranged in a horizontal line from the base of your spine to the top of your head.
The Chakras take in energy from around you and feed energy into your subtle energetic forms and into your physical body. For example, the Root Chakra or Base Chakra at the bottom of your spine connects your energy to earth and grounds you or helps you remain or be in the real world.
If you google “Chakras and Crystals” you will find that Hematite, Black Onyx, and Smoky Quartz are good crystals that help you remain grounded.
Certain crystals are said to resonate with different Chakras or Energy Centres, but this is a guide and the correspondences are not fixed. The relationships of crystals with the wellbeing of humans has been observed and recorded over eons of time.
I would never say “just hold a crystal and all your worries will go away, or abundance will come to you if you hold or wear this crystal.”
Someone may hold a rose quartz crystal and complain “It’s supposed to make me feel peaceful and loving, but it doesn’t.”
Well, consider that Earth yields thousands of different crystals, and you could try another crystal, such as amethyst or celestite, that may help you instead.
Crystal Dictionaries in print or online can help you find which crystal may help with various aspects of life.
I can share my personal experiences with using or wearing crystals. As well as amethyst resonating with me, I have a large rough smoky quartz chunk and a large black tourmaline chunk at work, and together the two are a “power-house”.
When I start to feel stressed, I will pick up one of these two crystals, which are right next to my computer, and within a few seconds my stressed feeling will abate. These crystals absorb the frequencies of energy which are stressing me.
Why would black tourmaline, for example, make one feel less stressed or reduce the effects of electromagnetic radiation from computers and televisions, and another crystal, say sun-stone, not do this?
Judy Hall in “The Crystal Bible” explains why. Because of chemical impurities, radiation, and earth and solar emissions, and exactly how it was formed, each crystal has its own note or energetic system.
Crystals are built from one of seven geometric forms: triangles, squares, rectangles, hexagons, rhomboids, parallelograms, or trapeziums, which lock together into a number of potential natural crystal shapes, which have generic names.
The actual composition of a crystal that you may want to work with interacts with your energy field, and with the variability in both, one crystal may have varying effects on different people.
Each crystal carries a frequency of energy unique to its form or shape, and to where it was produced. There are also natural “crystal habits” or properties, like dendritic, banded, striated, nodular and prismatic, which contribute to a crystal’s uniqueness.
A crystal point is a crystal collection that has been shaped to have flat sides and a pointed top. Other man-made shapes can be read about on Ethan Lazzerini’s “Crystal Healing” blog. I have hearts, eggs, spheres, wands, points and other carvings.
Crystals were created as the Earth formed and they are absorbers and transmitters of energy. The unique energy they absorb and transmit are what makes them interact with the energy of another form, possibly enhancing the matching energy frequency. It is energy of particular properties that create our thoughts and feelings.
Crystals should often be cleaned (literally washed of dust and dirt, if not damaged by water) and charged, which simply means letting outside energy from a pure strong frequency permeate them to “freshen” or replenish their internal energy.
Crystal healing usually entails placing various crystals on the Chakras. If you’re interested in crystal healing, you can look up this modality online, to find more information about it. There are people who offer courses on crystal healing. Make sure that you do your homework to find someone whom resonates with you and is bonafide, if you’re considering doing a course.
By looking at books and online Crystal Directories and at what crystal lovers around the globe show and talk about on social media, an alluring world of what seemed an endless number of crystals opened up to me.
I began typing out all the names of crystals that I didn’t have, but wanted, and the most marvelous names came out, like scolecite, apophyllite, azurite, chrysanthemum stone, pietersite, iolite, atlantasite, dalmatian stone, epidote, and apache tear.
Yes, I have an abundance of crystals, perhaps more than enough. My crystals are my way of keeping me grounded or firmly on Earth as a human being, while still being “spiritual.”
Some people say that if you’re attracted immensely to crystals, it may be because you’ve been a crystal healer in a past life!
The sources of my acquisitions have been local physical stores, Etsy, eBay and other online retail stores in Australia and around the world, that have got good reviews for ethical products.
Today I have a breakfast tray full of my most cherished crystals on our coffee table, covered with hearts, tumble-stones, palm-stones and raw pieces. This makes for easy carrying outdoors on Full Moon evenings to charge them.
I have crystals in display frames, held in place on plastic membranes, tumble-stones in interchangeable gemstone pouches on necklace cords, and even have a hair-band studded with jasper crystals.
Above are two crystal grids put together by me.
The first picture shows a Hamsa design wood round, surrounding a herkimer diamond.
The second picture shows a variety of small crystals in a heart formation, surrounding a copper and clear quartz generator.
By adding crystals into any space we can invite their energies into our environment and life.
I carry crystals in my pockets and in my handbag, I have them on my bed-stand and they are sprinkled around our living room and dining room.
I even have a small cloth “medicine bag” into which I place fluorite and sodalite tumble-stones and wear around my neck, hidden underneath my blouse, when I go to job interviews or important meetings.
Did you know that the human body is morphing into a crystalline form? This is a monatomic liquid light body, which takes in light, and where manifestation in 3-D is easier. We won’t have to consume so much physical matter as we resonate with finer frequencies more, and we will instantly be able to pick up other beings intentions and will be able to respond positively straightaway if we intend to.
Human beings are shifting from a carbon base to a crystalline one, and one of the easiest ways to become more crystalline is to wear and work with crystals.
The crystallized human is a fifth dimensional being whose physical body resonates with and participates in a multi-dimensional universal awareness of existence. This person is in balance with the world.
Somehow crystals find their ways to me, and always will.
Crystal grids are a way of arranging crystals on Flower of Life or other designs, to link together the qualities of different crystals, which can interact with the energy field of human beings positively.
I have a busy mind and use fluorite to curb over-thinking. I have a beautiful green fluorite heart and a point and rainbow fluorite too! There are different varieties of fluorite, such as green fluorite, purple fluorite and rainbow fluorite.
You can search the internet for many resources on the metaphysical qualities or properties of crystals. I will provide some references that I like. For example, here is information about fluorite.
Fluorite: for Balance | Clarity | Focus
“When life is overwhelming and feels like it is spinning out of control, Fluorite brings stability to chaotic energy. Silencing the mental chatter of un-ordered thoughts and worries, it provides clarity for confident decision making. Releasing fear and anxiety caused by external forces, it raises self-awareness and redirects your energy to consciously create the life you envision.”

The philosophy of modern crystal healing draws its concepts from traditional Asian cultures. In most cultures since the dawn of time there have been people who use crystals and gemstones to heal and shift energy.
I wonder what my bank balance would be if I hadn’t got so many crystals and if I stopped buying them, which I won’t.
“There are free rocks outside” my partner told me one day when he saw me looking at more crystals to buy.
But there’s still room in pockets, bags, offices, boxes, and on surfaces, on me, and in cupboards for more crystals!
There always is. 😃
