How to Develop Your Intuition
Everyone has psychic skills. Intuition is the innate ability to know something without having to consciously think about it.
I am open to receiving and allowing clear guidance from the superconsciousness and from my Soul / Higher Self, my Angels and my Guides.
Have you ever known something that you couldn’t possibly have known with your five physical senses? For example, something like a certain person is about to call you, or not to take a certain route when you’re driving?
I’m not talking about assumptions or guessing, but about claircognizance or clear knowing. This is a psychic skill or a function of intuition where you just “know” something strongly and clearly without immediate literal evidence.
One day when I was in town and had just finished attending an evening class, I went and stood at one end of a bus-stop, waiting for the 9.30 pm bus home. My intuition or an inner knowing told me to go stand at the other end, which I did.
Fortunately I was then standing under a stronger street-light and was saved from an attack! A man came up to me, pressed something into my back and said, “You’re going to have to come with me.”
I froze and before I could scream, a taxi-driver parked along the intersecting road looked up and saw us under the light.
I believe that my intuition (not common sense) and my guardian angel saved me that night. Something made the man in the taxi look up at that moment I was in danger, and he drove right up, so that I could leap into the taxi and escape.
Wouldn’t it be great if you had psychic “other wordly” abilities like these to help guide you in life?
Here’s what I have learned about intuition and what you can do to develop your psychic skills!
What is intuition
Intuition is the use of your “psychic” skills. Psychic means “other worldly” or not from apparent or direct sources. “Psychics” may be regarded by some people as charlatans or as strange people, but everyone is born psychic!
Psychic skills come from two sources. These are your Soul or “Higher Self” and the Super-consciousness.
Your Soul is the eternal spirit that is a part of you and that connects you to Source or God. Intuition is that power of the Soul by which truth is perceived directly, without the medium of any other faculty.
Intuition is soul guidance, appearing naturally during those instances when your mind is calm.
The Super-consciousness is the information and intelligence of Source that your energy field can tap into. Super-consciousness is also a state of consciousness that's higher than the conscious and subconscious minds. It includes what’s in the conscious and the subconscious realms.
It's characterized by a heightened awareness that can access energy and consciousness beyond material reality.
The way that intuition works is that your “higher senses” are automatically turned on or tuned in to channel guidance or information from your Soul or from energy all around you.
Fascinatingly, we are made up not just of our visible physical forms, but of invisible or subtle energy that surrounds us and that we emit and that permeates us.
Energy can reach and travel over vast distances and dimensions to merge.
Our Souls are fine energy or a spiritual essence surrounding us and above us. Your Soul is free from ego or complete self-interest. Your Soul’s purpose is to work with the ego and personality of the human 3-D physical Self for the spiritual evolution of the whole.
Clairvoyants can tap into images of events at great distances and even at a different time by merging their energy with the energetic impression of the happening.
The event is translated by the receiver clairvoyant by the “sense” of seeing, but internally. This is “clear” seeing or using an astral or subtle version of the physical eyes to relay information as if it was seen.
The clairvoyant does not literally see a physical happening in front of her, but perceives visuals in her mind. And this is possible because her psychic strength is that she’s on the “wavelengths” suitable for images to be conveyed to her.
The main purpose for your intuition is to keep your body safe. In ancient times this would extend to ‘knowing’ what food or water source was safe to eat or drink.
How do you develop your intuition?
Believe that you are naturally intuitive and that intuition will help you when you need it - if you are open to being intuitive.
Often try to feel what action to take intuitively. Look out for and be aware of ways in which you are intuitive: from the clair abilities.
Be relaxed and calm and live in the present moment so that your energy is fully receptive to intuitive guidance.
Intend to be intuitive. Feel yourself thinking, seeing, hearing, or just knowing something that you wouldn’t know through your five physical senses or logically.
Be confident that you are naturally using your intuition as much as you can.
Practice using your intuition. Throughout the day pause for thought and for intuitive guidance. Focus on strong and clear spontaneous thoughts or compulsions that make you feel supported and uplifted - they may be your intuition at work. Get familiar with your preferred clair ability.
Recognise the different inputs for motivating your actions: your thoughts, feelings, and intuition (or “gut reaction”). Is your thought an affirmative thought leading to a feeling of satisfaction? Satisfaction or contentment means being realistic and acknowledging optional solutions to a challenge.
A feeling of self-management and self-care comes from choosing positive thoughts that will move you forward. Even scary feelings are temporary and can be markers of courage to take the next right step. Choose thoughts and their resultant feelings that help move you toward desired results, with compromise if necessary.
What does your immediate “gut reaction” (your intuition) tell you?
If you’re deciding on a Yes or a No to something, go with 2 or 3 positive reactions. For example, “should I go on a holiday to Spain?” Your thought is “why not,” but your feeling is “maybe I should wait,” and your intuition tells you “I’m not sure yet.” So with 2 inputs telling you “No,” you delay your decision, and soon the perfect destination and time presents itself to you!
The most important thing in developing your intuition is to believe that you are intuitive, to be calm and to take the time to let intuitive guidance arise.
Intuition will never ‘tell’ you what to do, because you have free-will. Rather it will suggest, unless there is a clear threat or danger to your physical body.
Overthinking refers to repetitive, unproductive thoughts where people ‘ruminate’ about the future or ‘worry’ about the past,” while an intuitive thought is calm and singular.
If you don't feel or think something intuitively, it means you don't have a gut feeling or immediate sense of knowing about a situation, without needing to consciously reason it out.
Essentially, the super-consciousness isn't signaling a clear direction or opinion on the matter, leaving you to rely more on logic and analysis to make a decision.
Don’t blame your intuition (or lack of it) on a result if you use programmed behaviour and/or rational thinking to make a decision or to take an action.
There’s no need to be defeatist and angrily or sadly claim that you don’t have intuition if no intuitive guidance came to you and things don’t go exactly the way you want them to.
Intuition is a gift and if something happens that didn’t involve intuition, it was perhaps meant to happen that way.
As long as you are open to using your intuition or “inner knowing” and are receptive to it in terms of good physical health and being relaxed, your gift will find and help you.
Intuition can’t be turned on like a tap. Intuition can be thought of as a clear understanding of collective intelligence. You may not need to draw upon this collective energy to make a decision or take the next step.
Measuring intuition
Trusting your intuition takes practice for most people as we are often taught to disregard it once we start primary school.
Muscle testing is based on the belief that your muscles weaken when you make a false statement. Muscle testing or Kinesiology can be used to demonstrate how strong your intuition is.
The method requires two persons, a tester and a subject.
The tester places two fingers on the wrist of the extended right hand of the subject, so that it is at a right angle to the subject’s body. The tester rests his/her right hand on the left shoulder of the subject for balance.
Then, the tester makes declarative statements having correct and incorrect responses and tells the subject to resist as he quickly applies downward pressure on the wrist. If the statement is false, the muscle weakens.
Here’s the mind-blowing part: when your intuition is sufficiently strong, this method can reveal the correct answer even when your conscious mind does not have that information!
So you can test by asking a question that you know the person being tested doesn’t know the Yes or No answer. However, their intuitive mind may be able to tap into the collective energies/intelligence to find the correct answer.
For example, you could say to the test subject in a neutral tone and with a neutral expression, 24 times pi equals 75.398, which is correct.
If the subject’s arm remains strong and steady upon being pushed gently, it indicates agreement or a “Yes” answer. And it is the test subject’s intuitive mind that knows whether the statement is correct or not, if she/he doesn’t consciously know the answer!
Summary
Intuition is the innate ability to know something without having to consciously think about it. Intuition is experienced as a sudden insight. People sometimes see intuition as good luck, but it is more than the random occurrence of a helpful thought.
You will know it is intuition, not your normal rational thoughts, when you have a strong fleeting sense or impression of a clear happening, message or thought, along with a feeling of truth.
The more you enhance your intuition with meditation, yoga, breathing exercises and other techniques, the stronger and more reliable your intuition will become.
Intuitive messages may be mundane or significant. You may receive them while washing the dishes or while in a traffic jam or making an important decision. Some people may have intuitive knowledge every day and others now and then. But there’s no need to compare.
The more you are aware of your intuitive experiences, the more you will be able to translate the meaning of them, and use your psychic skills.
Impulses and instincts are not always intuition. This is because impulses can be the sudden retrieving of sub-conscious information or behavior, with an instant or rash implementation of it.
And all animals, human and otherwise, have got instinct, which is part of our biological or physical hard-wiring for physical preservation.
Intuition doesn’t mean that any time we want to, we can pick up information psychically. For reasons, not completely known, some information not gained via logic or facts, is imparted to us some times.
And this can be intuition, via tapping into information from our Souls or from the super-consciousness.

What an amazing and insightful read on intuition and how to develop it. Your story about the man coming up to you gave me goose bumps. Thank GOD your guardian angel was watching out for you. I once read that "prayer is you speaking to God and intuition is God speaking to you." I love this! Thank you also for sharing the experiment conducted. We can all do our bit to develop our intuition and we should or else we are not experiencing this potential to its fullness and so we miss out on such a sacred gift.
I get deep pleasure using my intuition. I suspect it's because intuition is a whole body experience and I have so much reason to trust that wisdom. Intuition feels like a deep "YES" I can trust and act on. And I usually find other people's intuitive takes a lot more interesting than what their mind has to say, I suppose because our minds take our ego needs into account. Intuition is beyond ego.
